The Eastmain Project is located in Quebec, Canada, which is frequently rated as a top tier jurisdiction for mineral exploration and development by the Fraser Institute. The project is also located North of the 49th parallel, meaning that it falls within the area covered by the Plan Nord economic development strategy launched by the Quebec government in 2011.
All season road access to the Eastmain property has only been possible since the completion of Route 176 in 2016. As a result, the property is now easily accessible from Chibougamau and Mistissini, providing significant logistical advantages, and access to a skilled labour pool. Chibougamau also provides all necessary mine support services.
The Eastmain project is a 4.5hr drive from Chibougamau, from where regular commercial flights are available to Montreal. An operational runway at the nearby Renard mine (1 hour away by road) also facilitates regular access to the camp by air. An airstrip also exists on the Eastmain project site itself, although some minor rehabilitation is required to return this to full functionality.
Benz Mining currently operates a fully equipped 21 person exploration camp at the Eastmain Project site which is accessible and usable in all seasons. Modifications and upgrades are currently underway in order to expand the capacity of the camp to 45, which will be used to execute the expanded exploration program in 2021.
